VGC Fire/Ghost Self-Sustaining Attacker

Ceruledge
VGC Guide

Ceruledge is a unique Fire-type physical attacker in Regulation I: its signature Bitter Blade restores 50% of damage dealt on every hit, Flash Fire provides immunity to Fire while boosting its own output, and Ghost typing makes Fake Out completely ineffective.

Bitter Blade: Damage and Recovery in One Move

Signature Move Mechanics

Bitter Blade is Ceruledge's signature move: 90BP physical Fire STAB that restores HP equal to 50% of damage dealt. Most setup sweepers sacrifice longevity for power; Bitter Blade eliminates that trade-off. Every offensive turn is simultaneously a recovery turn.

In Harsh Sunlight with Flash Fire already activated, Bitter Blade's effective power reaches extreme levels. Paired with Koraidon's Sun, Ceruledge can maintain presence across multiple turns — high value in doubles' fast-paced format.

Key Advantage

Fake Out Immunity

Ghost typing completely negates Normal — Incineroar Fake Out fails, allowing Ceruledge to freely attack on turn 1

Offensive Edge

Flash Fire Sun Combo

Flash Fire boosts Fire output after taking a Fire hit; pairs naturally with Koraidon Sun teams for devastating Bitter Blade damage

Key Weakness

Water/Rock/Ground Weakness

Kyogre Origin Pulse, Rock Slide spread, and Ground moves are the main threats — position around these
