Why Use Wo-Chien as Your Restricted Slot?
Wo-Chien is often underestimated as a Restricted pick in Regulation I. Unlike offensive Restricteds like Kyogre or Miraidon, Wo-Chien’s value lies in Tablets of Ruin — while on field, all other Pokémon’s Attack is permanently reduced by 25%, and this reduction cannot be undone by stat boosts.
Even more valuable is Ruination — Wo-Chien’s signature move that cuts the target’s HP in half regardless of their defense stats. This is one of the most reliable tools against high-bulk Restricted legends. Combined with 135 SpD bulk, Wo-Chien absorbs special hits while continuously warping the battlefield.
