Indeedee-M VGC Guide
Psychic Surge Offensive Core | Expanding Force Double-Target Spread Damage
Indeedee-M: The Offensive Psychic Terrain Setter
Many players default to Indeedee-F, but Indeedee-M fills a distinct niche: higher SpA (105 vs 95) and Speed (95 vs 85) make it more potent when firing Expanding Force under Psychic Terrain, while the Speed advantage lets it act before more threats.
The critical distinction: Indeedee-M cannot learn Follow Me, so it isn’t a support Pokémon. Instead, it provides Psychic Surge + high-power Expanding Force, making it a terrain-setting attacker — a completely different role from the support-oriented Indeedee-F.
🔵🔴 Indeedee-M vs F: Complete Comparison
| Feature | Indeedee-M | Indeedee-F |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Offensive Psychic Surge setter | Support Follow Me redirector |
| SpA | 105 | 95 |
| SpD | 95 | 105 |
| Spe | 95 | 85 |
| Follow Me | ❌ Cannot learn | ✅ Available |
| Expanding Force | ✅ Available (higher SpA) | ✅ Available (lower SpA) |
| Best Use Case | Teams needing Psychic Terrain + offensive output | Teams needing redirection + Trick Room support |
Both share identical Psychic Surge — the differences are in movepools (♀ has Follow Me exclusively) and stat distribution (♂ leans offensive, ♀ leans defensive).
Base Stats
BST 475 — 105 SpA and 95 Speed are the offensive core; 55 Def is the vulnerability to watch out for
🔮 Ability: Psychic Surge
Terrain Effects
- • Psychic-type moves deal ×1.3 damage (grounded Pokémon)
- • Blocks priority moves targeting grounded Pokémon (Fake Out, Thunderclap, etc. are blocked)
- • Lasts 5 turns (extended to 8 with Psychic Seed)
Priority Blocking — Strategic Value
Priority blocking in Doubles is extremely valuable. Incineroar’s Fake Out, Rillaboom’s Fake Out, Raging Bolt’s Thunderclap — all blocked under Psychic Terrain, letting your teammates act freely without priority harassment.
Expanding Force Under Psychic Terrain
Normally Expanding Force is 80 BP hitting one target. Under Psychic Terrain: power rises to 120 (×1.5) and it hits both opposing Pokémon. Indeedee-M firing Expanding Force in Psychic Terrain is effectively a 120 BP Psychic-type attack hitting both opponents.
Build 1: Full Offense Spread Attacker (Standard)
Psychic Terrain Expanding Force spread as the primary game plan
Moves
- ▸ Expanding Force
- ▸ Hyper Voice
- ▸ Psyshock
- ▸ Protect
EV Spread
Build Notes
Max SpA/Speed for maximum Expanding Force output. Hyper Voice provides Normal-type spread coverage. Psyshock uses SpA to hit physical Defense — effective against specially bulky targets like Cresselia. Choice Specs maximizes damage but locks moves; Psychic Seed offers flexibility.
Build 2: Trick Room Support Variant
Set Trick Room for slow partners while maintaining offensive threat
Moves
- ▸ Expanding Force
- ▸ Psyshock
- ▸ Trick Room
- ▸ Protect
EV Spread
Build Notes
Quiet nature lowers Speed, making Trick Room priority order more predictable. Psychic Terrain blocks priority moves while Trick Room lets slow partners move first — dual-layer strategy that’s difficult to counter simultaneously.
Recommended Partners
Calyrex-Shadow (Psychic Dual Core)
Calyrex-Shadow’s Astral Barrage and Ghost moves operate freely under Psychic Terrain. Psychic Surge blocks Fake Out, letting Calyrex-Shadow safely open with Astral Barrage. Together they form an overwhelming Psychic-type offensive core.
Iron Crown (Psychic Terrain Expanding Force Synergy)
Iron Crown also has Expanding Force. Under Indeedee-M’s Psychic Terrain, both fire ×1.5 powered Expanding Forces simultaneously — opponents face dual-spread Psychic attacks that are nearly impossible to withstand.
Tapu Lele (Fairy-type Complement)
Tapu Lele also has Psychic Surge — they can relay each other to maintain Psychic Terrain. Note: they can’t both be on field simultaneously for terrain maintenance; swap one out and back in to refresh. Both are powerful Psychic core options.
M vs F Decision Framework
Choose Indeedee-M when:
- • Team needs high-power Psychic damage output
- • Already have other redirection (Rillaboom, Togekiss, etc.)
- • Facing many Fake Out / priority-heavy metas
- • Building a Psychic core with Iron Crown or Calyrex-Shadow
Choose Indeedee-F when:
- • Need Follow Me to protect a key teammate
- • Trick Room team needs reliable setup support
- • Team damage comes from non-Psychic attackers
- • Need higher SpD bulk against special-heavy metagame
